"The 2005 Grenache was aged in French oak, 15% new. Opaque purple, it offers aromas of smoke, pencil lead, black cherry, black raspberry, plum, and raisins. This leads to a succulent wine with gobs of sweet fruit, excellent balance, a long and pure finish."

"The 2005 Grenache – Shiraz – Mataro is deep crimson in color with an expressive perfume of licorice, tar, truffle, black cherry, and black raspberry. This is followed by a full-bodied wine with layered sweet fruit and excellent concentration."

"The 2005 Mataro was aged in French oak, 15% new. Opaque purple-colored, it has an enticing bouquet of seaweed, tar, truffle, plum, and blueberry compote. Fat and intense on the palate, the wine conceals significant ripe tannin that suggests it could evolve for further."

"Rudderless is the conception of Doug Govan, owner of the Victory Hotel, which importer Dan Philips claims is among the finest pubs in South Australia. Govan decided to plant the hillsides around his pub and hired Justin McNamee to make the wines. These are the second releases with each cuvee consisting of only 100 cases."
